Spa & wellbeing escapes · anywhere in the world

Slow down.
Breathe out.
Stay a while.

We find the quiet places — thermal pools, candlelit treatment rooms, unhurried mornings — and help you plan the days you actually need.

Massage · Thermal pools · Facials · Silence · Long sleeps · Nowhere to be

Four ways to do absolutely nothing — beautifully

Every escape on Stillwater is built around one of these rituals. Mix them, repeat them, or pick just one.

Massage for two

Side-by-side treatments in garden rooms, so the only conversation is a contented sigh.

Thermal & open-air pools

Warm jets, cool air, a lounger with your name on it. Bring a friend and lose track of the afternoon.

The spa night in

Not travelling this month? Our guides turn a sofa, a towel and a friend into a proper retreat.

“Leave the world for an afternoon. Come back to your life.”

Our story

It started with a holiday that needed a holiday.

We were the people who came home from trips more tired than when we left — too many tours, too many alarms, too much “making the most of it”.

So we tried the opposite. One pool. One treatment a day. Long breakfasts. No plans after four. It was the first trip in years that actually changed how we felt on Monday.

Stillwater is that idea, shared. We research spas, retreats and quiet hotels around the world, write honest guides about them, and point you to the places that get rest right.

We’re a small, independent team. We don’t do hard sells, countdown timers or “only 2 left” pop-ups. Just good places and clear information.

What we want to give you

  1. i.

    Permission to stop

A trip where doing less is the whole point — and nobody asks what you “did today”.

  2. ii.

    Honest, calm advice

Clear guides on what a place is really like, who it suits and who it doesn’t.

  3. iii.

    Time that feels longer

Three slow days can feel like a fortnight. We plan for that feeling, not a checklist.

Questions, answered gently

Do you sell spa packages yourselves?

No. We publish independent guides. When you book, you book directly with the spa, hotel or a trusted booking partner, under their terms.

How do you make money?

Some links earn us a small commission at no extra cost to you. It never changes what we recommend. See our Terms & Conditions for the full disclosure.

Are treatments safe during pregnancy or with health conditions?

Always check with your doctor and tell the spa about any condition before booking. Our guides are general information, not medical advice.

Can I suggest a place?

Please do — see our contact page. We visit or research every suggestion before writing about it.
